What we repair
Storm damage. Downed sections, wind snapped posts, and fences hit by falling limbs.
Leaning or broken posts. The most common failure point, and the one that matters most, because the posts carry everything else.
Rot and decay. Rotted posts and boards, replaced before the damage spreads to sound wood.
Missing or damaged boards. Individual pickets and rails, matched to your existing fence.
Fence gates that sag or drag. Gates that have stopped hanging right, rehung and squared as part of the fence they belong to.
FEnce Repair
The answer to that questions is take a look at your posts. If the posts are solid and the damage is limited to boards or a section or two, a repair will hold, and that is usually what we recommend. If the posts have rotted at the ground line or started to lean, new boards fastened to failing posts will be back on the ground in a season or two, so replacement is the cheaper project measured over five years. When it is a close call, we quote the repair and the replacement together, so you can see both numbers side by side before you decide.
Fence repair
Most of the repair calls we get on fences other companies built come down to the fasteners or the gate bracing. Cheap nails let the pickets pull away from the rails within a few weeks as the wood cures, so a fence that looked right at final payment starts losing boards a month later. Galvanized ring shank nails grip the wood as it dries and moves, and we drive them with pneumatic guns so they countersink. On gates, a diagonal brace running the wrong direction, or missing altogether, lets the gate sag until it stops latching.
Frence Repair
Usually, yes. Because we stick build rather than install prefabricated panels, we can match your existing board dimensions, style, and profile board by board. New boards will look newer than their weathered neighbors for a while. Wood evens out as it seasons and stain closes the gap faster, and we will tell you what to expect on your fence before we start.
Fence repair
Call us before you wrestle with a downed section yourself. We will walk the line with you, assess what is damaged and what is sound, and put everything in a detailed, itemized quote you can also hand to your insurance company if you are filing a claim. If posts need to be reset, utilities are marked through Tennessee 811 before we dig, same as on a new build. A hard wind can loosen a post without knocking the fence down, so it is worth having the line walked even when the damage looks like it is limited to one section.
Frence Repair
New boards, whether they came from a repair or a new build, need time to dry before they can take stain. Pressure treated pine needs about four to eight weeks, and cedar can take finish sooner. Stain protects the wood from taking on and shedding moisture too fast, and that cycle is what pulls a board out of shape, so a repaired section that never gets sealed will age faster than the fence around it. Staining is not something we do in house. We work with local staining partners and will point you to the right one when the repair is finished.
